So I'm doing all my VST instruments in Tracktion and I want to record them to Vegas. They're not rendering perfectly, as Tracktion is crapware, and anyway I want to run them through my desk for some EQ and so on. Is there any way I can do this? At the moment it's impossible for Tracktion to play whilst Vegas records because they won't share my Delta 44.

Can't you record the VSTi in Tracktion, export it as an audio file of some sort, then import that file into Vegas? Or is that what you're trying to do, but getting crappy results?

Try the 'render at 1x speed' option before you post any shit like this. I get perfect renderings from Tracktion because I read and follow directions. And of course they won't share your soundcard - Vegas is not ReWire compatable and Tracktion is...

I wasn't asking for your opinion on Tracktion, or how to render either. As I say, I want to be able to record the audio outputs but do some outboard as well. If you can't help me, don't bother posting. :)

I'm so sorry I offended you. Please forgive me. I'll never do it again.

I might be off here, but Tracktion wouldn't play along with Sonar going out the same output to monitor. You'll either have to disable Vegas' outputs and enable Tracktion, or assign Tracktion to the Delta's other pair of outputs so that Vegas and Tracktion have their own. That's what I "think" as I've only worked with Tracktion for a few moments...it was too much of a hassle for me.

It's frustrating - I love Tracktion for the creative process, the ease of arming inputs and moving VST plugs etc, but god help you if you want to change anything once it's in, or are relying on good VSTi support. I've heard T2 is better though.

I've tried assigning them each to different output pairs ... no luck. Looks like Tracktion is hogging the ASIO driver and won't share the Delta at all. Not had this problem before, and it's leading me to suspect a purchase of Cubase SE or Sonar is not far away ... :)

I have no idea what the 'god help you' is refering to and I couldn't ask for better VSTi support...

And yes, T2 is better in almost every way.

Oh well ... I can deal with your opinion ... I'd be a whole lot happier if you had ANYTHING of any worth to add to this thread. If you're just here to pick a fight, start another one for it, because this problem is seriously pissing me off as Tracktion will not render a single project correctly for me, whatever options are used. That qualifies it for 'crapware' status in my book. :)

Norm - I'm using Vegas 5 ... can't afford a new package, hence why I'm labouring with Tracktion NFR.
