Except with the XLR's and 1/4" Access-Snd/Rcv,...

the back panel looks more on par with the 388!

I must admit, I've seen the Audio Technica model before, in person. Nice! ;)

Both of these models are Dolby B/C NR versions of what's otherwise IMO Tascam clones. The A/T one-ups the Tascam 246 by including XLR inputs, which appears to have borrowed the entire rear panel design of the 388. Feature-wise, this thing's loaded!

Anyway,... nothing screams hifi-audio like wood side panels!

Yeah, if the 246 had xlr's it'd be, imho, a perfect cassette 4 track.

I'm sure the Audio Technica was a very well built machine. Certainly looks it.

Well, you have the Audio-Technica 6x4 as an alternative.

Local Pickup Only! Be there, or be square! ;)

It has the build quality of the M-30!

45 pounds,... baby! ;)

Come to think of it, (I'm remembering now), it's about the same size as the M-30!

A/T: L-21"/ W-24"/ D-5" (weight 45lbs). Metal top-plate/metal construction.

Yeah, that A/T's cool!

Hmm, I wonder where Dave will be in about 4 or 5 days ? Hint: Burbank! :D ;)

Gee,... you must get a lot done by not being logged on all the time, like me!!

Heh..............;)

Yeah, that's what blew me away! A guy at a music store once asked me why I'm so hanged up on the weight of audio equipment. I said because whatever weighs more, is better! :D

Still, I think dbx would have been a better choice on the RMX64.

Ah,...

so!.............................. ;)

So much gear, and so little time! ;)

Yeah, I agree. I think Dolby SUCKS, but the A/T RMX64 is a nice unit, alright! I'd probably run it without Dolby. ;)

Yeah, it'd probably sound very good, without NR, considering the built of this thing!

Agreed on the Dolby! It's pretty useless imho.
