What is the legal process of getting rights to do a remake or remix of an origianl song?


Is the any good song writing software that allows you to implement notes, lyrics, key sigs. etc....?
 
Licensing....
Check with ASCAP and BMI to see if it is listed and apply for a license......
If not, you have to contact the copyright owner and ask for a license.....
This is for a song that will be recorded and released to the public for sale.

CodaMusic (Finale etc.) and Band in the Box have the capability of scoring from the soundtrack......I believe it works off of the MIDI.....not the .WAV.....
