Two-mic stereo recording alternative?

I want stereo recording, and am using the Fast Track Pro w/Ableton Live Lite 8, but only have an AT2035 mic. I don't have either a hardware mixer yet, and am not sure if there is alternative for this. Can I somehow perform a stereo recording without the extra hardware? Or is there software anyone would recommend to do this? Otherwise, I may look to return my mic for a condenser pair for the same or less amount... cuz recording guitar in mono sux :(
 
I'm going to assume that you are really wanting to record a stereo effect on your guitar. Guitar is a mono source. In which case, yes run out of your stereo effects unit into two seperate isolated amps and record with two seperarte mics into two seperate channels. IF you are just looking for a wide guitar sound in your mix, double track the part and pan opposite. Hope this helps.

Would a software mixer be able to solve this?

nvm i think i got what i wanted... just switched the input to 'mono' instead of 'stereo' now it plays out from both L&R

You were recording a mono source to a stereo track...? That's what happens.
