I got a Motu 8 Pre interface and also a M-Audio 66.
I was wondering if i can somehow record with both of them so i will have 12 tracks...
Is it possible??

Not without some way to keep them in sync. The M-Audio device doesn't have ADAT capabilities, so you'd need some sort of master clock that could produce both ADAT and S/PDIF sync signals. Probably not worth doing. And that's assuming that it would work at all.

ASIO only lets you have ONE audio driver loaded at one time.

IF you had more than one Motu interface, you can chain three of them together for up to 60 simultaneous I/Os, because they would use the same single driver. That's because the driver was built that way.

As dgatwood said, you have to have the interfaces talking to each other so the crystal clocks in them synchonize or the tracks will drift all over the place.

So in simpler language..... no. Save your pennies, sell the 66 and get another Motu interface to go along with the 8Pre.

can someone link me an explaination to clock sync and what not?

on my mac i can make an "aggragate device that lets me use more than once. I used my brothers line 6kb37 the same time I used the line in on my mixer into my mac....

does that work with "clock sync" or whatever?
