Two interfaces - will this work?

Is it possible to use say....an Alesis Multimix Firewire for audio, while simultaneously using a Tascam US-122 for MIDI? Will Cubase recognize both interfaces simultaneously? The up and coming Alesis product looks nice because of the multitracking capability, but alas no MIDI interface on there.

Yes, I use a MidisportUSB for MIDI and a 24-bit audio card for audio.

You just have to specify the audio and midi interfaces in the preferences.

No biggie....
