Have powered monitors

2 problems

Local radio station bleeds thru one and only continously, station is less than a mile away, I think its AM (spanish)

Other has noise coming thru, hiss when its on.

Thanks for the advice, countin on y'all

Hmmmm........................................

What kind of monitors are they?

That is not normal!!!!

I've heard lots of stations (russia etc)over guitar speakers, but never over powered monitors....

What type of cable are you using to connect to your monitors?
You may be using instrument cable instead of speaker cable. There is a huge difference!!!!

Switch the cables on the 2 monitors and see what happens- Richie

Thanks, more info half way there

Okay, checked my cables, always the first place I know, whether or not I do it. 5' patch, balanced 1/4 to neutrix.

Monitors are Roland DS-90A, 24bit.

Card is Aardvark Q10

1st, think one cable was only partially inserted into output, and this appears to have gotten rid of the spanish station as well as something else that'd been puzzling me.

Still have hum in the monitors (both now which is good), whether or not I'm sending a signal (guess you might say in the idle mode).

Hum can come from so many sources, weak ground, florescent lights, nearby high voltage electric lines, computer monitors, even things like an electric clock plugged into the same circuit. You may have to look long and hard to eliminate the hum!
