can you sink audio cards in 2 different computers ?

and would you have to run 2 copies of the the audio software and net work the pc's ?

when you press play on one computer would it start the other ?

and also do 2 computers making 25db each make 50db of noise or 25db ?

depending what you're actually trying to do... maybe...you can in linux and OSX (i think) ... sort of... simple shell scripting... been thinking of doing it on a video rig to get two seperate capturing computers rolling at about the same time (one video computer and one audio computer) ... sync is a little different ... I think it can be automated like in the tone-pulse technique used in movies...

it's basically like an "audio renderfarm" which there really isn't any point in doing unless you're trying to do 100 simultanious channels at 32bit 192khz... because a lot of devices (perticularly firewire devices) support multiple soundcards... Then theres the adat stuff which will do a couple hundred channels at lower sample rates.

two noise levels that equal 25dB added will be 28dB
