Dirty head error. Try fast forwarding and rewinding a tape all the way through. The tape should be in good condition but one that you don't care about ruining.
 
I bought an HD24, don't even want to bother, just want to get rid of them before I decide to donate them to a local museum and see if I can get a tax write off. See, I can't even sell them for fifty bucks, maybe I will have to pay some one to come and pick them up.
 
Hang onto them for another couple of weeks. If they don't sell by then, I might mess around with them.
 
Keep 'em. Fix 'em like diggu dude said, and post on your local craigslist that you do transfers. As ADAT's become more and more scarce, there may be some money in it.
 
I might be interested in these for the PSUs. Ill let you know.
