But I love the sounds this thing is making!

And besides.. Isn't Grado Black the baseline model for that company.. i.e

#1 Grado Red
#2 Grado Green
#3 Grado Black (coming in last)

....I can say that my Shure is currently TOP OF THE LINE in fidelity, for that brand current production line (a brand whom I trust [the company's high end, anyway]....

I fail to see the point... :)

Did I mention it looks like a futuristic trash truck (which is cool lol)?...

Actually, it goes:

1. Reference $1200
2. Master
3. Sonata
4. Platinum
5. Gold
6. Silver
7. Red
8. Blue
9. Green
10. Black $40

Yeah, it's the bottom of the line, but the bottom of the line Bentley's a nice ride.

I stand corrected... On all sides of the debate... :)

Either way.. I'm happy... I would also be eager to A/B the two... ;)

If you're happy, I'm happy.

I'll just take the opportunity to say..

"MY OLD AUDIOTECHNICA CART SUCKED ALL THINGS SUCKABLE"

Not sure what model it was (came with the TT used and the cart is unlabeled).. but I'll never buy one...

i know this thread has been dead, but ive been looking into the Shure M44-7s that you guys recommended and i just have one question. ive seen some type of submodel, i think it was the M44-7 H that is premounted on technics headshells. if the regular model isnt, what would i have to do to make it compatible with techs?

If I understand it correctly... The H model is for people who wanna swap 'em quick... I can't see any reason that you can't mount the M44 on your existing headshell... Maybe someone else can correct me....

Go with Technics with shure m44-7's and get a rane or vestax mixer. Sure all of this stuff costs alot, but if you are going to scratch, you need it all. Take it from a dj of 18 years... If you don't just go ahead and buy the best, you will end up trading the crappy stuff in for it anyway or just quitting because you can't do anything on crap equipment.

i already have a mixer and all that, i am just not happy with the cartridges i have now as far as scratching (stanton trackmaster II's). all the damn parts confuse the hell out of me, does anyone know where i could find a diagram of all the parts (stylus, headshell, cartridge, etc)?

Get the technics headshells and trash those stantons. Get the m447's or you will skip alot. Nothing else even comes close. As far as a diagram, the little wires are color coded to the ends that they need to connect to on the cartidge.

M44-7

Man, your a fool if you dont get the M44-7's..... I would go with the ones that are already mounted on the Technics headshell, its just easier for swappen out on the fly and its only like $10 more I think, at least mine were......peace....

I certainly hope this isn't directed at me... Otherwise, I am now reserving the right to issue a rebuttal....
