lol, ok..... shit.... ummm ok

I'm using a "new" tagneat mixer (new for me at least) and it has a phantom power LED, and the ad said it has phantom power, but... unlike my bheringer, there's no switch for it. any Idea how to turn it on?

thanks

There has to be a switch for it in the back or something look all over it for it. Ive never heard of the button being anywhere else but on the mixer.

What is a tagneat mixer? I looked it up on google and it came back empty.

sorry, It's Tangent, (model 1602a, good luck finding anything on it though)

and, yes I've checked all over the bloody thing (especially the back) and couldn't find the button anywhere, just solo buttons, power button, lo-cut buttons and 5 effect buttons (EFF, RVB, MON,MONO,MAIN) but no phantom power.. thanks for the responses so far though.

Maybe it's just always on. It doesn't affect a mic that doesn't need it.

True, but I've always been leery of hot-plugging a condensor. A coworker at an old job once killed an AKG by unplugging it while phantom was still on.

Nick, I would suggest having your mics plugged in before you turn the mixer on, and make sure all the gains are turned down.

I have never turned the phantom power on my board off in 10 years. Never had a problem.

My little Peavey-8 channel mixer has a recessed button for phantom power, which I think is a good idea until you have to go on a search to find something to toggle it.

no, it's not sweet ass, that it gives phantom power to those who need it (un less I'm doing it wrong) becouse the mics that don't need phantom power work great (seems to work better than before) but the one's that do need phantom power don't give anything. currently since I'm just using 2 mics that need phantom power (2 overheads) I've got them plugged into my gherenger (left and right) then sent them to the big mixer (and then to my PC) but it would be nice to have it plugged straight into my board.

thanks for all the responses guy's!
