Using Cakewalk, let's say I write a piece of music for MIDI instruments using the staff view. It plays back fine over my Soundblaster.

But how do I convert this MIDI track into an audio form like a wave file?

When I record an audio track, I have the option to export audio to a file and it will mixdown the audio into a wave file, but with this MIDI track, I don't see how to mix it down or convert it to normal audio.

Playback your midi track and record it as an audio track.

In the Windows Mixer, there is a choice to choose "What U Here" as the recording source. If you check that, and record a track of the SB Live! Wave Device as your input, while playing the MIDI track, it should record your MIDI as audio. (In the windows mixer, choose: Options: Properties: Ajust Volume for Recording)

Its all in the help files and on the Cakewalk website. All you had to do was look.

Just so you don't think I am lazy...I did check the help files, and they were...NO help.

But thank you everyone for the assistance.
