I just purchased a TubePRE which also can be used as a direct box ... and I wanna plug this in so that I can check it make sure Guitar Center didn't f*ck me over again... I thought that I would plug the input in the back labeled "instrument" to my guitar ... and the output into a channel on my mixer .. is this not right???

if it is right then back to the store with it ...

and also ... would i still get signal if the tube is messed up???

... cause I am getting signal when i plug my bass into the back of the tubePRE, but when i send the output to channel 1 i dont get signal anymore like i was earlier

and one more question ... is it possible for me to plug this in so that every channel runs off the TubePRE ... ???

i dont think there is ...

Normally, the idea with Mic Pres is not to route the output back through a mixer, but straight into your recorder. I don't know if this is causing your problems. Just thought I'd mention it.

Ahh I did not know that ... I am recording onto a harddrive ... can ya help me with this???

You would run a cable directly from the output of the mic pre into the input of your soundcard. Don't patch it into your mixer, it will degrade the signal. The whole rationale behind outboard mic pres is that you can bypass unnecessary electronics (like a mixer) and get your signal into the recorder (in this case, your computer) in as pure a state as possible.
