Tube in Mic or Preamp?

Should I put my money into a good tube preamp with a Rode NT2 or non tube preamp with a tube mic like the Rode NT1000? Will I notice the difference? What will it be?

And no matter what I buy should I try to upgrade the non-tube component to tube later? Is it redundant to have both be tube?

Also will it hurt the Rode mics to put them directly in front of my cranked Fender Twin next to an SM57 mic? Would I want to use a cheaper mic for that (I'm thinking of capturing more accurate tone).

Also I am recording into an audio card that's 20 bit not 24. At that resolution does any of this matter?

Happy happy joy joy.

The tube mic you're thinking of is the Rode NTK, which I own and am very pleased with.

Buy a good mic with a good preamp. It doesn't matter if there's 2 or no tubes in your recording chain.
Just listen to diffrent combinations of mics and preamps and don't worry so much about the number of tubes...If it sounds good it's good.
