Does anybody use the clean channel on this amp? Going from a 'hybrid' state AVT - which had pretty great cleans - I'm not sure I've a use for the clean channel.

While it sounds great tone-wise, the overall volume output seems lacking when compared to the drive channels. I have tried boosting the master volume and rolling off on the volume of the drive channels, but the clean sound seems week by comparison.

Maybe I'm missing the point as the clean tone is fine for recording. But in a live situation, how many use the OD channel with the gain kept low but the volume high?

If anyone could post some suggested settings for this amp on any channel I'd appreciate it.

Hi Telepaul, I have a TSL602 and only use the clean channel. I use an MI Audio crunch box for distortion.

I get a lot of comments about the TSL being one of the worst Marshalls but I love the amp. There are some clips of my TSL602 on the clean channel on my Soundclick page.

If you're interested go and hear for yourself.

Cheers,

Peter.

Do you think you can get enough volume out of the clean channel though - without a stomp box I mean?

I can get more than enough volume out of the clean channel. I often have to play clean in the band I'm in and to be honest, if the amp only had a clean channel I'd still be happy.

There must be something wrong. My TSL601 will ring your ears on any channel.

Well it IS loud...hmm...I wish we could compare. It's loud, just not comparatively so. I got it second hand so I guess I should ahve replaced the tubes. Don't get me wrong, the OD1 and OD2 are frickin awesome. It's just the clean seems a bit thin.

The volume of my 1,2,and 3 channels are all very close.

Lemme think about that....the clean channel only has a gain control, right? Is there a setting you could show me that'd give me a pretty even ouput switching between all three channels?

Micter any chance you could post your clean settings? Was playing again today, my otne just flat out blows.
