Trying to record drum tracks with Yamaha DD-65 in Acid Pro 7

I connect the Yamaha DD-65 drum pads with a E-MU 1x1 midi cord. I use Acid Pro 7 and set my soft synth as EZdrummer 2 with the E-MU midi device selected as input but for some reason I cannot get it to connect and respond to my hits. I am very new to recording and MIDI so if anyone out there can help I would be grateful. Thanks.

I have E-MU 1x1 also selected as a midi device in EZ drummer. I might need an additional Acid plug in that is able to map the notes to the drum pads. Does ACID have this feature built in?

The DD-65 transmits the data on channel 10 (can't be changed). Is Acid or EZ-Drummer set to receive channel 10 (I don't know either Acid or EZ-Drummer, so you're on your own there)?

You can assign MIDI note numbers to the pads, so you should be able to "map" the pads to correspond to what you want in EZ-Drummer. See page 32-33 of the manual.

Thanks for the response. I set both Acid and EZdrummer to MIDI channel 10. I was looking through the manual but didn't see anything on mapping notes. Here is what I have so far. acid 7.webp

If any other information is needed to better troubleshoot the issue I can provide it. I know this should work but I think the issue may be with the settings in Acid. Do I need a 3rd party VST to assign the notes?

If you know the MIDI notes EZ-Drummer needs for each drum you can "map" the MIDI notes sent from the DD65 as shown from page 32 of the manual below.

Not sure if this would help or not..... https://www.custcenter.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/89/~/how-do-i:-recording-midi-in-acid?

Is there any indication any MIDI is being received in the computer, either Acid or otherwise? A good troubleshooting tool to use to see if your MIDI interface is doing what it should is MIDIOX
How to use MIDI-OX....
