Hi All: I have been reflecting on my struggles with myself and the music business. Here are some from it. Walter

thanks guys for listening to my music! I have been working on facing the inner truth inside me that has been disapointed by the lack of industry interest over the years. I was and am not looking to get rich. I just want some quality places to play where people actually tune in. These gigs have become far and few between the last 10 years or so. I have said countless times I don't care what the world thinks of my music, but I am realizing I do. I am learning it is ok to be sad and happy at the same time and the world is not black and white, but shades of gray. I also have learned that it is much more rewarding to play in my studio than to do gigs that are not conducive to what I do. Out of this new search I have come up with this idea. I have posted it on craigs list and am looking at filmakers forums to post on. Any ideas or leads would be welcomed! Walter

Hello: My name is Walter Tore and I have created a one of a kind approach to music. I call it Spontobeat. What this means is I create my words and music spontaneously. I have no idea what is coming out and have been doing this for almost 50 years. I have had a fairly interesting musical backround (so I am told :-) ) and currently play as a real one man band. I play the drums with feet, guitar, harmonica on a rack, sing and keyboard, all at once.

What I am interested in trying is an experment with filmakers. I hoping to meet some folks that would like to make a video(s) (spontaneous would be ideal) to my music. I put no parimeters on it. I am a firm beliver that artists should create without any outside pressures and am open to publishing anything that turns me on. I have over 1,600 songs at the site below. There is also a video of me perfoming in my studio(has close to 12,000 views), and a bio. My songs are snapshots of the moment in time of my life, the universe, past, present, future, and dreams of dreamers. I am the only person in the world doing what I do, and maybe with the right collaborations, things can go somewhere. I am looking for new adventures and this sounds like it could be a fun one. No need to be a pro filmaker. I am into the soul note. That is real art IMO, so don't be shy. If you are interested, contact me and I can send you any song you would like to put a video to. I think you've got the right attitude...can't really offer any advice on anything else but good luck, you deserve some recognition

Whan an amazing concept! you're quite the harp player, and quite the musician to multitask so well, all the while improvising the lyrics. Quite an inspiration, and I love your voice too! Out of interest Walter what are you using to record...and do you just do it live all at once?


Something I've thought about is approaching film schools...students need projects/soundtracks and for certain assignments are sent out to find bands and musicians...the good thing is these guys go into the industry afterwards and remember you (at least that's the plan) or you get some filling for you music resume..but its hit and miss, you have to research the school first as some departments will provide generic music..it has to be one of some repute


I think you'd be a docu/film in yourself

kcearl: Thanks for that idea. I live outside columbus, ohio, and sent an email to the Ohio State University Film dept. Maybe something will come of it.

on my recording set up, I do everything live with 4 or 6 tracks. I have rigged a double kick pedal to hit the bass drum and snare, a beater pedal to hit the ride cymbal. The snare and ride beater pedals have sticks attached and brushes so I can get a different sound when I want to. Everything is within a few feet of each other so I play real quiet. I say my drums and guitar amp are no louder than a slightly louder than normal speaking volume. I am trying to improve my recording to what my head wants to hear. I think it will take a lifetime, but I am ok with most of quality considering I am fairly new to recording.
