Hey all,
As you can probably tell by some of my recent posts, I'm getting back into midi sequencer (and in to some for the first time).

Today I tried my JV-1010 with Cubase SX. After setting everything up right, I sequenced a decent sounding 24-measure piano thing. Well, I then hooked it up to various speaker sources (home stereo, amp, monitors, digital recorder with headphones) and was floored by how much noise my CPU makes. I heard as much hissing etc as tone from the JV. So, my question to all of you is this:

Is there anyway I can stop this hissing noise?????

Unfortunately, I have to go through my CPU's joystick port to output midi. Is that causing the noise? Right now, I have 3 top of the line sound module, and all of them sound like old Casio keyboards because of this hissing. Any help would be VERY appreciated. Thanks.

not all wrong...
computer midi isn't noisy... there's no noise on midi.. midi is a digital signal that triggers sounds, in itself midi doesn't contain any sound... it's just a string of notes and events...

no what's probably wrong is your soundcard and how you've set it up... cubase user forum wouldn't be a bad place to start, since you're using that particular program... but you're going to have to give us a lot more info on your pc setup...

Turn off all of your inputs of your soundcard. Only turn up the one you are using. Most soundcards have the mic, line, and everything else set to on as default.
