i know this subject has been discussed to death but I have not been in the position where itg was truly a relevant subject, UNTIL NOW. I have owned a Kog karma for some time, about a year and though I like it, in fact love it in certain respects and would otherwise keep it, for reasons I would rather not get into, I will be trading up to either a Triton Studio or a Motif. Frankly, the possibility exists that I will keep the Karma and add the Motif to the pack of synths I currently own.

But the issue still needs some consideration - Triton or Motif???

So, if y'all would be so kind, based upon you r EXPERIENCE, please list pros and cons for each board and lets see where we end up. In advance, I thank all for thoughtful and insightful posts.

As a primer for measruing criteria, it will be helpful to know that I do some R&B (old school and new school including hip hop and rap), orchestrated music, pop, and maybe an occasional rock tune here or there. In additiona a staple of my musical identity though not what I do for commercial success is jazz and fusion. These are genres mear amd dear to me and my sanity.

So with that, ladies and gentlement...Fire Away!

my experience with both boards (allthough i've got much more experience with the triton) tell me that
1) the motif sounds are more contemporary
2) the sampler is much more advanced (and twice as big)
3) the effect section is indiscussably more grand
4) the expansion options are greater
5) the sequencer is better
6) the filters are sweet...
7) the price is more reasonable

but.. it doesn't have touch screen.... so even though i know faithless uses the triton alot, i'd prefer the motif anytime.. could i only afford it myself...
