I agree with stratomaster, the vocals could be a little more prominent. Tempo is a little disjointed at 2:13 (during the guitar solo)...but I'm thinking that was intentional. Overall (at least to my ears) it seems to be mixed OK....just bring the vocal up a little more.
Finally some critiques. This is the 3rd time ive posted this track. The first 2 submissions garnered no reply. I am definitely aware of the "lurching" of the rhythm during the slide solo portions. I've been tweaking this mix for awhile now so Im glad that its not complete rubbish. Frankly, Im just going to have to shelf this and commence work on new material so I can come to this with a clear perspective. I believe my head may explode if here one more second of this. Once again thanks for the pointers.
lol we all get like that sometimes...Im just finishing something ive had for a few weeks now and it went from excellent to bloody awful in my head...
The point with submissions is commenting on other folks...to be honest I dont feel i have the time or inclination to listen to 7 or 8 new tracks a day with any interest unless they have taken to time out to comment/help me...then they get my full attention...just the way it works Im afraid
but after hearing your track Id happily listen to more...I like atmospheres rather than just songs and I think this veers towards the former than latter, which is a good thing imho
Haha, yeah, we probably ALL know that feeling to well.... Im new on the forums but I do like to contribute to others work as well. The community's pretty far out so you'll probably see more of me.
Not a bad track at all, although I felt it drag a little. The string pad you're using tends to dominate the the whole song. The dissonant Floydish lead guitar is a good idea, but I thought it sounded a bit thin. You've laid some good foundations, though.
