I want to transfer all my old 4-track cassette tracks to digital, saving each track's individual data for use in ProTools.
I have an MBox Mini ---great for an individual recording new songs, but with only 2 inputs, not useful for the 4-track transfer.
If I transfer each track one at a time (or even two at a time), because the tape playback speed is never the same twice, I simply cannot get synch on all 4 tracks after transfer---particularly the "non-rhythmic" songs. I've read several posts where they say this is not a big deal, just a little time required to synch everything up.....I can tell you, they are dead wrong, massive headache.
What I'm looking for is cheapest option to transfer all 4 track simultaneaously into the ProTools software, so no synch issues. Only advice I've gotten so far is to upgrade to bigger digital recorder with 4+ inputs.
Any advice for simpler solution? Does there exist a simple A/D converter out there that I can plug 4 anaolg inputs into, and it gives me a USB (or something I can connect to my laptop) output that ProTools can read 4 distinct channels on???
