I have quite a bit of rigid fiberglass that I got for free. I have a lots of sizes but plenty to make some nice sized corner traps. However the stuff is in 1/4 inch thickness. I plan on stacking them to make six inch traps.
But would there be any benefit to spacing them a little as I stack them? I mean like maybe a small 1/16 or so space between the sheets.
Using a little spacing of course I could make a lot more panels, but if it really reduced the effectiveness I would of course just pack them tight.

I would make them around 4" thick, no gaps in between with a 2" gap at the back between the wall and the last layer of rigid fibreglass.

Below is an awesome arcticle covering everything you need to know about trap building etc.

1/4" thickness? I've never seen it that thin. Are you sure its Rigid Fiberglass? What was it used for?

Yea I had never seen that thickness either.
It came from some of those office cubicle dividers. A friend works at a place that was trowing away a bunch of the dividers. I have known of others that got rigid fiberglass by breaking down the panels.
My friend said yea lots of people want the fiberglass before they throw away the panels. It usually is thicker.
It looks just like the Owing stuff (yellow)... and no question it is rigid fiberglass.

hmmmm, dust my britches...ah learn somethin neew evra daiy!:D
