I have a Echo Gina20 for a sound card. Let's say I have 16 tracks of 16 bit/44.1mhz digital data that I want to transfer. For the sake of this discussion, lets assume that I can pull off a midi sync between the DA-88s and Audition, as it doesn't appear to be that difficult.
The only digital output that the DA-88 has available is the T/DIF, but the Gina has S/PDIF inputs.
First question is: What type of conversion device would be required to send out the tracks digitally, two at a time, from the T/DIF interface on the DA-88 and be able to feed them to the Gina's S/PDIF in?
Second question: If I can't do the above, what type of degradation of sound quality would I experience if I went from the D/A converters out from the DA-88 to the Gina's A/D converters in?
Any help or opinions would be appreciated?
