I was wondering how you would transfer tracks from a vf160 to a computer. Thanks

VF to PC

There are two main methods:

1. Transfer as WAV files (via a CD burner or Zip drive),
OR
2. Transfer via digital connection(ADAT or SPDIF), and record the output.

Method two has it fans on some of the VF boards, but others report sync problems. Personally I use the VF's on-board CD burner. Takes a few minutes (about 10 to burn a 350 meg song), but it's reliable, and most songs fit on one disk. I used to use a Zip 250 drive on my old VF16, and that worked well, but involved a bit of disk swapping.

Good Luck

I bought an external 2gb jaz drive, internal 2gb jaz drive, 2 2gb jaz discs, and an scsi controller all for $50 (ebay!). The transfers work wonderfully, and are quite fast.

I think if you're going down the Zip/Jaz route two drives are essential. The Zip drive I got for the PC end was USB, so I didn't even need the SCSI controller.
I haven't used Jaz drives but some VF users have reported problems (ckramer for one). You pays your money...
