wesmozart,
Yep there is a CD ROM from Steinberg called CREATING DANCE MUSIC with Cubase, Rebirth and Recycle.
There are a few books on the subject as well. Two of them are really worth reading. FAST GUIDE TO CUBASE VST by Simon Millward and WIZOO GUIDE CUBASE VST by Ralf Kleinermanns.
WIZOO GUIDE is accompanied by a CD-ROM with Cubase Demo and other stuff. Both these books are available in the UK.
Yes u can convert MIDI files into audio files within the VST. Which version of
the Cubase VST do u have anyways?
If it's Cubase VST 24 then there are two VST instruments included in the package. One is Neon and the other one is vb.
All you have to do is, bring a midi file into Cubase ...put it on a midi track(with the default settings, first 8 tracks
are audio tracks and below them are MIDI tracks)
Open up Audio---VST Instruments----Neon(and switch it on)
In the arrange window....direct your MIDI track's OUTPUT to Neon.
Place left locator at the begining of your MIDI file and right locator on the end.
Go to File menu and find ...EXPORT AUDIO FILE...click on it.
Your MIDI file will be converted into Audio file.
I use a powerful PC....but I think it will work on a Mac as well.
I've a friend in the UK who is Steinberg's official instructor. His name is Robert Jay Ellis-Gieger and he is working as a senior lecturer in
the Leeds Metropolitan University. You may visit his website
http://www.MusicSound.net
His platform is also Mac.
Anything else?
cheers
