Tradition JR Series or Signature series. Anyone here know about them or have any experience with them?

Korean made guitars.

Quality is generally very good, but a few bad ones have been known to slip through inspection here and there. That happens with every guitar manufacturer. Tradition guitars are pretty much on par with Samick and Jay Turser, which are also Korean made.

Recently, at Plasterini guitars in Arlington, TX, I played two of the les paul double cut models (MTQ) one in amber and one in sunburst. I was seriously impressed with the tone of'm. There was a difference in tone between the two. The sunburst weighed noticeably more and had more of a Les Paul maple top sound. The amber weighed noticeably less and had more of an all mahogany less bitey tone. Both played better than the mid range Gibsons I own. Both sound better than both of my Gibsons. sustain is certainly better. Pickups were nothing to write home about. The finish was good, the fret job was good on both, and the price was the killer. They had a limited run Aerosmith sig Epi, also Korean, and the Tradition were better sounding instruments for $300 less?! $799 and $499 (if I remember correctly).

I know the President of Tradition is out of Ft. Worth, he will be at the Dallas guitar show with as much of his stock as he can manage. I am going to look for one of their more expensive line of Lesters. Maybe I can swing a couple a hundred off retail. PS check out tonefordays.com for affordable hand built custom pups.
