Trade? Rickenbacker for a Mustang?

I have a 360 Rickenbacker its about 2 1/2 years old. Its red. 6 stringer. It looks like the one George Harrison used during the Beatles 65 tour. It also looks like one I've seen Tom Petty use. It is in perfect condition.
I am looking to trade even up or make some kind of deal for a used 62 Fender Mustang. Both of these guitars are about 1200. to 1300 new in Musicians friend. If anyone is interested let me know and Ill get you my email adress so we can do this in private. Also I know I havent supplied any photos but I will if someone shows interest.
 
So you wanna trade a 2000-ish Rick for a Vintage '62 Mustang?!?! I won't pretend that I know what the value of a vintage mustang is because I haven't kept up on them, but that doesn't sound like the best of deals for one of the parties.

Nevermind.....Were you refering to a VINTAGE 1962 Mustang or a Vintage '62 Reissue Mustang? That would be a lot different, but aren't the new Fender Mustangs only like 5 or 6 hundred?
 
Sorry for the confusion...I meant a reissue not an actual 62 mustang...
 
Wait a minute!!!!I didnt mean a MUSTANG...I meant a JAGUAR!!!! man I feel like an idiot.
 
If I were you, i'd keep the Rick and save up for the Jag. But that's just me. Good luck covering Beatles tunes with your new Jag...
 
Jags are cool I must admit, but that Rick is amazing....if you have played a Jag then by all means trade it, which it seems you already want to, but I would hold on to the Rick and save up for the Jag. (Just a little at a time, I know you want it now, but you will miss that Rick one day.)
 
I really like my Rick...its not that I dont like it or its broke or something...I just like to switch it up now and then. The rick is in such good condition that I feel like I have to be so careful while using it so that I dont put a scratch in it or something to make it look messed up.
A Jaguar on the other hand seems more solid and durable. Like it could take some abuse and keep ticking. thats my thoughts on why I want to trade...The guitarman was right when he said I like to cover Beatle tunes...but I also like to do Foo fighters and Weezer and stuff like that.
 
I think you'll regret the trade. Rics are way cool.

Buy yourself an inexpensive but nice banger (Alvarez, Hammer, etc.) for more aggressive stuff. Then slowly trade up to a highler quality axe.
 
Check out a used Jag or even a Jagstang. Hell, a used Mustang is still a kickass axe if you ask me. Jagstangs and Mustangs are only like 5 or 6 new, so a used one should mean CHEAP!!!!!!! Especially for the quality, playability and the TONE you will get.
 
How about the Squier Jagmaster? You get the Jaguar/Jazzmaster body shape with 2 humbuckers. They usually go for less than $300 street.

I have a 330/6 that I wouldn't trade for the world.
