Ive been reading about Traction, and it looks like this may be the software for me. I am a new to computer recording, and looking for the simplest software first, or something that doesnt require a huge learning curve. Also, its cheap. Has anyone here had any experience with Traction? If so, what are the pros and cons?

I've messed with traction for a little bit (traction 1 that is) and I liked it. When you get the hang of it almost everything you need is there when you need it, and not there when you don't need it. However, I did feel a lack of overview on everything, because every thing is on one screen and also ofcourse because you don't see everything until you actually need it. Those things might not be bad points but I've already learned Cubase for a large part and I'm happy with it.

But if you learn Traction 2 to the fulles you might have a very powerfull and fast system on your hands :)

Tracktion 2 is not going to be released for about a month, but there is a demo available on the Mackie website here.

I'm a huge Tracktion fan, having used it for more than a year as my main sequencer and I think you've made a wise choice. Don't take my word for it though --- download the demo and see what you think.
