Tracks out of sync

I am using an Audigy LS, and Audition 1.5, both which do not support ASIO. The problem is, the tracks go out of sync so badly when I record. I have struggled with this for 2 years. How do I record this in sync? It is so annoying. Why does this happen? I know you will say that the gear is rubbish, but I have got really good results with it. I want to work with this gear, but the tracks are so far out of sync its not funny. I have adjusted every setting imaginable. What is the setting which will work for me? Please help...Even if I get an ASIO supported soundcard, my software doesn't support it! Please please help...

Go to options>settings and make sure that "correct for drift in recordings" is checked.

Done that

Yes I have done that, it is in fact a setting on Audition. It worked a bit, but went no way in solving the problem... Thatnks anyway...

Unless you have already done so .... try recording at 48kHz.
Leave everything at 48kHz till you need to do a SRC for CD or whatnot.
Most Creative (and many internal sound chips) operate natively at 48kHz.
When used to record at other sample rates, they are forced to do sample rate conversion on the fly. This can be a cause of track sync issues.

However, if you've tried this already ...... never mind.

Good luck with it.

Thankyou for your message I will try that. I had a bit of a breakthrough last night. That is I used headphones. I got far fewer latency problems with this method. You see I have never used them before. Obviously the method of using speakers as monitors while recording creates problems with fractions milliseconds of latency...I really am grateful for your help and I will record at 48khz...

Love your site Dragon!!!
