Tracks out of Sync

here's the deal...i record my band on a Tascam 4 track, transfer the tracks through an SBLive into Soundforge, i then bring them into Cakewalk. now when i play back the new mix...the songs start out in sync but as the song progresses, the tracks become increasingly more out of sync.
is this due to 4-track tape fluctuation speeds during playback? or is there something else i should know?..i have even gone down to the 1:1 view and have the tracks starting at the exact same point.....any suggestions would be gladly appreciated.

i have the same problem

I've been having trouble getting the tracks to sync except I'm recording straight in to the computer one track at a time. They are just slightly off, but obviously when listening to it you can tell something is not right. Is this just my crappy soundcard? Lets say I have the drum track. I press record to lay down a guitar track. I hear the drum track through my computers speakers, and play along with the guitar. Now when I listen to both the track, the guitar track is not right on beat with the drums, making it sound very sloppy.I have a feeling it's the soundcard, which is just the stock one on my computer, and I'm using the line input.
