Hi everyone.

I'm a long time lurker, and I think I've posted on here with a previous screen name years ago, but I really can't remember.

Anyway, my band is going to be recording an album in the coming month and I was wondering if I could get some advice. We plan on tracking everything ourselves, and then taking the .wav files from our recording on cubase to a professional to do the final mix job. We tried this for a demo song and it came out really well! This time we want it to sound the best it can so here's what we have and what we plan on doing:

Drums:
2 mxl 603's for overheads
3 57's (one on snare, 2 on toms)
1 kick mic (forgot what it is)

guitars:
les paul into 5150 amp, but we will be splitting this into a DI also
telecaster into boss distortion pedal into a crate powerblock, this will also be DI

bass:
fender geddy lee into sansamp/DI

vox:
Oktava Mk-219

All going into a preamp (forgot what it is, it's at our practice studio) into an 8 track card, into cubase sx3.

So the plan is to track the drums with 6 mics (last time we did recorderman), to a click, along with the guitarist as a scratch track.

This will be a punk/somewhat experimental band. Any kind of suggestions would be good..like drum heads, ideas for tone, anything I need to give the engineer the best material to work with. Thanks
