Ok, ive been fighting with track lag for awhile and ready to give up. I thought it was my cheapo K-6 200 but i put my soundcard into my wifes Celeron 433 and im getting the same thing. The soundcard on her computer works fine, but its mono and i cant deal with that. So i put mine in and disabled the other in BIOS (its onboard sound) and i get track lag. Do i have to do any more to put in another soundcard? The one im trying is also a cheap yamaha one, but its stereo and has a decent synth. I want to get the Direct Pro when it comes out but not if it wont work with a computer that has onboard sound. Anyone please help!

up the playback buffers in whatever software you are running..the default setting might be too low.. i had that problem when i first got vegas.. also.. better soundcards like events , and aarks , have dedicated dsp , which takes alot of the load off the cpu..and that always helps...
