Tracertek "Ultimate Recording Bundle"

Am a potential first-time buyer of PC recording equipment. A friend of mine recommended this system for starters. I already have a Korg Triton and a decent PC setup. Do you think I should go for it...or is there a similar, but better package for the same price?

You don't need a package...unless you want a bunch of mediocre equipment chosen solely for maximum profit margin.

something like this would be better, IMO:

$400 M-Audio Omni Studio
$130 Marshall MXL-V67

Now add maybe $200 for the cables and software to match that package and you're up to $730 for much better equipment.

I don't know much about the C-Port, but once again, that alone is about $400...so you can see that the package has a healthy profit margin.
