On another site these hyphy kids who always saying hyphy is different then crunk...and all that mess.....Im getting off course

There was numerous posts talkin about E-40 ghetto report card, and some making accusations that its gonna flop, and those saying..wait until the next video.Ive been an E-40 fan since 92...however his new shit to me is horrible.I will be the first to admit I dont take thizzle pills and I dont get dumb,or hyphy.I do understand from a business perspective why e-40 did what he did.I also think that even though the album isnt a total loss,i think it flopped and, they shouldnt spend anymore money on promotions, videos and just cut your losses.
Its easy to look and say...damn 280,000 aint bad, also remember labels arent in the business to do O.K. anything less then gold isnt considered a sucess, unless its a totally independent album like cube who his 1st week sales
are almost at 145,000.Thats going to be a high profit margin for his team.
E-40 pounds of belly on the other hand...he has had the airwaves playing that tell me when to go nearly non stop for the last few months. It costs hundreds of thousands of dollars for that kind of airplay for a hit single (I have a more exact figure laying around..but take my word) He is involved in the hyphy movement wich is big in northern cal(even though he was never a hyphy rapper,or in the scene previousley)He has had mtv my block come to the bay= more exposure.he has had videos on mtv,Bet,wich Im sure wasnt cheap to make,or get aired. So if you look at all the dollars spent on videos, promotions for singles and a movement wich your song is at the top of...I would consider 280,000 a loss for a record company who had a vision of bigger sales.
One last bit of trivia....Look at ghostface....If it wasnt for the net i wouldnt know he had an album out,and he has a respectable 257,000...wow not too far from e-40....Im gonna definatley get that ghostface...Im sure he didnt compromise his integrity as an artist and still is reaping benefits of a good profit margin on his sales vs. money spent on promotions...

i feel you but if you look at e-40 album sales in the past..you will notice it pretty much the same for all his releases..i thin he will go gold..it will take another video or something..but it depends on what the record label was expecting to sell..who knows..he signed with BME and they are still called a indie label..so who knows

I feel you too...I mean I STILL bump some of the old school stuff with The Click and almost all of the albums up to Charlie Hustle. I'll still get "My Ghetto Report Card", but I'm not expecting to like it near as much as the classic shit.
