tool for removing clips and clicks

do you know a good tool for removing clips and clicks?
Freeware would be welcome also

Where are the clips and clicks coming from?

I'm asking because they could just be playback glitches.

Any DAW will allow you to to mute clicks in your audio. Audacity and Ardour are free. Reaper is cheap.

However, if you've recorded clips into your track or if your clicks overlap with audio you want to keep, you're stuck with them. You might be able to mitigate the effects a bit with clever editing, but it's a garbage in/garbage out situation. You can't un-clip audio.

The clips are real, independ. I will try some of the free tools first.
I spent 1 1/2 years work for this CD. It has to be "perfect"
