tom vibration

I'm getting this bullshit vibration through my tom mics, i have two of them rigged on my drummers toms with those drum mic clips. i notice when he plays the kit, they are in constant motion, shaking slightly. I guess I'll have to use stands instead of those clips, unless anyone else knows something I don't.

Has anyone else used these mic rim clips on toms, and did this happen to you?

No, clips are ok for live use, but you should use stands for recording to reduce vibrations.

Happens a lot, yup, use stands. It's a bit less noticeable if the drummer has something like DW suspension mount, but still not as good as stands.

I use rim mics. Yeah they wiggle a little, but I gate the toms anyway, so no big deal.
