Toft ATC-2 Compressor

Those of you with a Toft ATC-2 channel strip - how would you describe the compressor? Is it similar to any another compressor? Are you using the compressor section as an insert without using the preamp section?

I'm interested in these units myself. Nice to have two channels on it.

I have the ATC-2. Real nice unit for the money. That means if you are looking for a compressor in the 1K range and don't need or want the pre and EQ I'm sure you can buy a better unit for that kind of money. If you want the pre and EQ then it's a very good buy. The compressor is what I would call transparent. I don't know what else to compare it to. I have used it as an insert for the compressor. It helped to have the gain from the pre in there. You can turn of the EQ if you want.
Same when using as a pre you can bypass the EQ and/or the compressor.
