I have a simple question to ask you all.

I need the answer ASAP.

I need to run an AKAI MPC2000 (8OUTS) into the TASCAM TM-D1000 lines 1-8.

Then, I need to run the TDM1000 (TDIF OUT) into my computer (PCI822 TDIF), so I can track in Cakewalk 9.

I think I can set that up properly (by using DIRECT OUT).

1-8 ANALOGUE IN, TDIF-A OUT 1-8, then assign my Cake 9 tracks for input and output.?.

But, the killer question is how do I sync the 4 units.

MPC2000 into the TMD1000 into the PCI822 into Cakewalk9.

Should I have Cake9 be the MASTER DEVICE?

I need some help guys. I have to go to main studio in a couple of days, so it is imperative that I know how to configure this board correctly.

Also, when I go to the main studio, how should I connect and sync the TM-D1000 to the main studio's board and ProTools?

I need detailed answers.

Thank you very much my fellow HOMERECCA'S....

Spin,
I don't know if the PCI 822 can be set as Master/Slave. Try starting the Akai fisrt, set it as Master, then start the TMD/Options/System/Wordclock and set to Wordsync In 44.1K if there is any Digital cable to the Akai, even SPDIF will work. If the Akai is Analog only, syncing is not an issue. Then set the TMD to internal which will make it Master. The PCI822 was made for the TMD so it will sync fine. There are wierd orders whenit comes to syncing. Usually start-up the Master first and slaves next. You may have to have the Akai on before you start the TMD. If I use a cassette deck or POD with the TMD, they need to be on first and then the TMD will accept them. Just turning on the cassette will through the TMD into a tizzy. Experiment. Lights stop blinking when things are in sync.

Thanks oneArtist (chuck). :D

I appreciate the help, but I already figured out the solution. :)

MPC2000(8OUTS ANALOGUE)/TMD1000(8INS ANALOGUE)/TMD1000(8OUTS DIGITAL)/PCI822(8INS DIGITAL)/PCI822(8OUTS DIGITAL)/into Cakewalk9.

Then, I made Cake 9 the MASTER device and I made the MPC2000 the SLAVE (Cake 9 MIDI OUT/MPC2000 MIDI IN).

I figured out the reason of why I couldn't get Cake 9 to START the MPC2000,

The driver for my MIDISPORT 2X2 was not installed or configured properly. So, I uninstalled it and then I made Windows 98 search for the new component and driver.

I hope this information can help somebody out in the future.

peace
