Hey everyone. I've been working with this (for lack of a better word) hardcore band on their current lot of demos.

I've been playing around with the drums for a while and I just cant quite settle on a sound, every time I think I make some progress I have a listen later and it ends up frustrating me.

The current track is acoustic drums with DI bass and guitar (which will be reamped soon)

I'm just wondering if there is anything blatantly obvious that people pick up on the drums that they think need improvement or any advice at all really, it's always nice to hear another opinion!

The mics used for tracking are:

Rode NT5 matched pair (Overheads)
Heil PR20 (Snare top)
SM57 (Snare bottom)
JTS CX-505 clip on mics (Toms)
JTS NX-2 (Kick)
Rode NTK (Room)

I hear a lack of low end from the kick mic, but this isn't mixed yet so I won't judge. It has no balls.

The hi-hat seems a little loud/bright towards the beginning part. And it sounds like there's a bit too much room in the drums. That's just my take on things.
