timing.??

when im recording on sonar 4. with my guitar connected directly to my tascam us-122. i cannot get the timing the same. i record one guitar track. then as im listening i record a second guitar on the beat, but when i play back they are off by like a little and it sounds horrible. i fixed it last night but i didint know how i did it, and now its back to being messed up.

also when i record im hearing alot of feedback backround noise or something. im a super newbie to recording so i dont know. the input isnt crazy high, but when i listen i always have this like airy feedback noise thats really loud.

go in to audio and then turn you card's latency as low as it will go...also if its background noise then its your recording environment that is bad...but if its feedback it could be a number of things....just curious what card do you use?
