I currently use an old Fostex D80 hard disc recorder. I like it because I can record all 8 tracks at once and it was cheap, I already had a desk, some compressors and effects for live use so all in all its a reasonable compromise home recording. I have been cnsidering getting a software package like logic or Cubase. This is mainly because my keyboard sequencer is a pain in the arse to use so for midi its easier and more flexible. I don't want to spend loads of cash on this but I also want to use it for some audio work (mainly vocals).
Does anyone know if I will be able to accurately time sync the two systems for audio and midi I am assuming this will be by midi time code I have heard that I may get sync. problems particularly with Cubase altough I've been told that Logic is better in this respect?
