is there a way I can hit record and it records only a specified time, like say 45 min then stops?

I'm sure there's probably an easier way to go about this, but in multitrack view you can highlight a blank selection in a new track with the amount you desire. Arm that track. Hit record. It will stop at the end of your selection. Hope this helps.
