Hang on,
I have to relisten with the incense burning & the kaftan on inside my parachute ceilinged doss & joss house.
I particularly like the organ sound - very of the time.
Cheers

Heh, yeah,... thanx!

.............. ;)

Holy smokes man....that is freaking good!!!!! I really dug that one. (actually, digging it again right now...)
This baby really fits with the way I remember the original. You captured the essence of this beautifully. Way to go....very cool...

It appears to be mel-low,... oh yes it does!

...................... ;)

The backstory of this cut is that it's an entirely rerecorded "version 2", done in glorious analog on the Tascam 388.

The first version of this song (not posted) was recorded in all-digital on the Fostex FD4 and Tascam 546 (linked together),... for a technical recording and performance that was well below the fine-tuned precision of this one, (as it currently appears).

I worked on this cut for a week or two, (with two separately recorded versions),... laboring over the vocal parts most of all,... next to the drums! I'm happy with the way it turned out, otherwise it wouldn't be featured!!

Thanx!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;)

Huhhhhh...oh yeah....huhhhh....the song, yeah man...cool...ahhhh...huhhhh...oh yeah man, I dig this tune man, yeah. Woooooooow:D

excellent. full of character man. got any more?

edit: checkin out your soundclick page.

Rock Candy! F*ng A!

Sometimes I think I'm the only other person in the world that heard that album. Well, that and a few friends of mine back in the day.

I will say this, you've certainly got more cajones than I.

Now I gotta get on my bad motor scooter and ride, cause there's good rockin' tonight! :D

Whatever happened to Ronnie Montrose, anyway?

so i heard this is a cult thing...

Excellent sounds all around. I'm feelin this, very enjoyable recording  :)

lots of cool stuff on your soundclick page. btw, what's your guitar rig?

Yeah,... a cult!!!

Thanx!!................;)

My guitar rig?...

Actually, for the obviously "live" and "live-in-studio" stuff that's my guitar rig, (below), but for much of the purely "studio" recording I've not used any "rig" whatsoever, but more likely just plugged the guitar into the board and mixed a close-mic in there for ambience,... or used a guitar pedal inline between the guitar and board, with the above referenced close-mic,... with no amps on the recording whatsoever.

It kinda depends on which recordings you're inquiring about. I've obviously done a lot of "live" and "live-in-studio" recording, as well as many "studio/produced" numbers, and they all have their own little stories behind them, as well as their own particular setups or somethin' special about them!.....

Pictured below is my guitar "rig". A 1982 Ibanez Blazer plugged into a Roland Spirit 10A amp, that's connected by Line-Out to a & Roland Bass Cube 40's Pre-In,... with both amps juiced and cranked simultaneously.;)

Thanx for listening & for asking!!;)

I just remembered, that...

back about 10-15 years ago, I used the Boss BE-5 multi-pedal extensively in my guitar rig. My recordings such as "Rock Candy", "In-a-Gadda-Davida/Sunshine of Your Love", "Something", "You Can't Do That",... and anything from that era would have featured this pedal.

Since then, I'm more inclined to just plug the guitar into the amp and turn it up, as on "Look Back in Anger", "Glass Onion",... eh,... more!!.

See: Boss BE-5;)

Back in the very old days of '82-'86,...

I'd use a DOD 250 inline from the guitar to the mixer.;)

This pedal is featured on '82-'86 period recordings such as "Fashion", & "Happiness is a Warm Gun", and others, I'm sure.;)

Sounds awesome!!! I gotta give you props on the DOD pedal too! I got one off e-bay for less than 25 bucks, and it has become one of my main pedals. Can't get enough!

BTW, I don't know if I mentioned it, that tune is awesome!
:D
