Does anyone here know how to activate a timer, so I have enough time to run into the booth before it starts recording?

what kind of booth?

A phone booth
A voting booth
John Wilks Booth
A kissing booth
A toll booth
A ticket booth

mY BOOTH. I can't press record, and run to the booth at the same time, I need a timer so I can have enough time to run in there.

what about after you're done recording? what would you do then?

All you need to do is place the other tracks ahead instead of at the beginning (i.e. 0:00:00) - make sure they are at same location, of course. Then on your vocal track, just click in that new empty space where it would give you adequate time. Hit record and go to the booth. Make sense?

timboZ, that's pretty cute.

I checked FD's web site and the Tranzport will work with Audition. I needed one several years ago! Too late, now =sniff=

Red Rover

I had one, but it died, and I replaced it with a Tascam US428, which has now died, and a Mackie Control is on order.

The RR had one advantage, that is, that the USB cable was long enough for me to stand at the mic and start recording when I was doing vocals.

Why are you posting this in the Cool Edit forum, when you claim you use Nuendo with your Creative Audigy and $50 preamp?

sam ash told me that nuendo 2 and adobe audtion which is original cool edit pro told me that it would make a good combination, adobe for testing, nuendo for recording

Oh great ... you bought Audition and Nuendo but are using a consumer soundcard? You must think we're stupid ............

Or you're yet another idiot rich-kid spending on daddy's plastic. This is the internet, so I'll let you claim one or the other and never actually know! :)

What the h*ll are you testing???????????????????????????????

Seriously, return Nuendo, take the $900, spend $60 on N-Track (http://www.fasoft.com) and the other $840 in the bank (ING Direct has great rates for savings) and save up until you figure out what else you need to get great tunes. Oh, return that Samson compressor as well.

That's what it is! there's something about every post you make I couldn't quite put my finger on...

No, but if money is scarce, you would not have spent $900 on Nuendo! (as well as blowing money on Audition for "testing") You could have purchased an M-Audio Delta 44 for $200, N-track for $60, and a little Yamaha mixer for pres for your microphone. You'd then have money left over to feed you and your family.

if money is scarce, you should research stuff before you spend your money.

Good luck learning everything, but please be patient! You will not get a pro sounding recording on your third attempt.
