Hey everyone,

Here's my situation: I have just over $200, an SM58, 57, PG48, and an Apple G4 Tower, which will be my makeshift DAW. Thankfully, I'll be able to get my hands on a few more mics, so that won't be a problem.

Nevertheless, which would be the cheapest possible way to interface at least four audio sources into the computer, where I would be able to manipulate each track individually? I'll be recording drums.

I was considering a Yamaha MG10/2 mixer, but I would be able to only able to output a maximum of three tracks individually at once (using the two buses [panning those channels all the way to the right] and the main left-channel out).

Thanks for the help!

Delta 44 $150 and the MG10/2 $96 would be the cheapest way I know to do it.
You should be able to get 4 outputs from the 10/2

Awesome! That fits exactly into my price range.

How would I get four outputs from the 10/2? Does assigning channels to busses take those channels out of the main mix?

I'm a bit confused. This is what I'd want:

One output with snare ONLY, one with right-overhead ONLY, one with left-overhead ONLY, one ONLY with bass drum.

So I'd be able to adjust each drum track individually on my computer (i.e., raise volume of snare).

Thanks :)

The first 2 channel strips on the 10/2 have inserts so they're your inputs 1 & 2 on the delta 44
Pan channel 3 hard left & 4 hard right. These will output via the Main Out to inputs 3 & 4 on the delat
