Hey guys. I thought I'd see if any of you knew anything about a vintage amp my friend found. I'm familiar with the Tiesco brand (though unaware they made amps untill to day.) He found a Checkmate 25 amp head. It clearly states on front that it's solid state. (I'm guessing from when manufacturers were making the transition from tubes to transistors.) I can't find much info on these. ANything you know would be appreciated. (i.e. value, ohm rating for the speaker output, specs, manuals, anything)

Thank you so much.

I've seen a Checkmate 20 schematic, and it didn't look 'factory', so who know how accurate it is. Plus it was tubes. It looked interesting, with potential. It had 7189 output tubes, which are impossible to find these days. But a solid state Teisco schematic I haven't seen.
I lied. A quick check of my usual sources reveals for $15 you can have all the service literature you need;
Checkmate*Schematics
I don't like paying, but you may not have a choice.

Thank you so much for your response. I'm not sure he's gonna spend the cash for the specs, but it's a nice link. Thank you.

does anyone else know anything on these amps?

As an aside . . . if I mis-match ohm ratings will it hurt anything? Thanks guys!
