Thoughts on Peavey PVM 480's as overheads

I just wanted to get the board's opinion of Peavey's PVM 480 SDC's vs other affordable SDC's for the purposes of overheads.

Anyone have experience with these? My local store has them for $140+ each and I see that online stores have them for $199.

I was planning on buying 2 AKG Perception 170's; but if the PVM is a good "step-up" from that mic, I'd rather spend the extra $40 bucks per mic.

Any help would be appreciated.
 
Other than that they should work fine as overheads.
