Looking for a thick, heavy mix... tell me where this stands and give me your opinions.

"Nothing" 2nd revision rough mix

Cut the cymbals back a bit. I'm not digging the snare sound too much. The kick is nice. The guitars are alright. Could be a little louder. Maybe a little more low end.

It's not half bad, though.

Wow.... I dig it. Is it okay if I listen to this in my car?

P.S. It has that old-Sepultura feel. Good shit. I wish more bands would come out with stuff like that...

Listen to it wherever bro! They have some heavier faster stuff, I'll post it if you want it, when its done. The rest has a Sepultura/old Slayer feel to it. Nice.
Umm, so everyone so far seems to think the guitars are a tad low. Some think the cymbals are too loud, others think too soft. Wild how things like this vary so much. Thats why its so hard to satisfy everyone. You fix the things that 60% of people think need fixed, satidfy yourself, and move on I guess. :)
Geet- We have been trying to get the low end OUT of it, hah. Imagine that. Some systems are too muddy with any more low end in it.
Anyone else?

Yeah...that was nice...really. Along with my 32oz coffee and this jam was enough to get me awake this morning. Very cool.

IMO, all of the levels are fine the way they are. I sometimes find myself wanting to up the level of a certain instrument sometimes only because it's really cool. That is an immediate trigger in my head to say, 'leave it alone'.

Dug the cool intro. Does remind me of Sepultura a bit. Very cool, aggressive vocals. They stamp Meanness into the tune. On my system, which is a pc hooked to just a decent 5.1 system it sounds pretty good. If I were to try and pick it apart, I would say the cymbals are a bit loud at times, but not all the way through. At the end, all parts seem to mesh well, and the guitars sound really good. I'd like to hear the guitars a bit more in the beginning of the tune, but it might wash out some of teh other sounds. I thinbk if you could tame that one cymbal that is loud at the beginning, and through the main verse portion, it will let the guitars come through as is. But, that is just some thoughts, as all in all, killer tune. I really like it.

Whats loud is that frigging Zildjian A china cymbal... if I could tame that, I'd be pretty happy. It dont wanna.

Good mix.....but IMO the vocals are too loud. I try to get the vocals to be JUST above the rest of the mix so they sit in there with the rest of the instuments and do not totally dominate. But lots of guys want the vocals to dominate......

Good mix though.....

Thanks for the good comments everyone. I think tubedude did an excellent job getting a sound that fits our style, and I think the rough mix is really good. Thanks for the comments and for helping us tweak it out. Anyone else got input? What kind of speakers/stereo has this been listened to on?

The 2nd link is this one, see if it works now. The other link is the newer one. Neither are finished and sound a little different.

It worked now.... OMFG!!!! That's definately Ipod worthy. I needed to hear that. :D

I think it's very hatebreed-ish (that CAN'T be a bad thing). You are the mix god, and the band isn't bad either.

Please post more of their songs, when you finish them. :)

im only acquaintances with "heavy" , but i thought it sounded great!

Reminds me of Biohazard for some reason... Excellent work!

Sorry everyone... I changed the links to the songs when I uploaded newer versions. Here's working links for the first two songs:
