what a frustrating weekend so far!
basically i'm playing around with pro tools free on my pc...i can get a lovely sound for my acoustic guitar but when i play back there's some horrible latency/delay thing going on. when i try to multi-track, i get no playback from the guitar track through my cans.

i'm using a bog standard soundblaster card on my pc (masses of free disk space, optimised for audio etc etc) and i think the card may be the root of all my problems.

so here's the question:
is there a soundcard out there, between $100-150 dollars, that could do the job? my music is basically acoustic guitar, two vocals and a few bits and bobs on top...

If you`ll reach up to the top right and click on "search", then type in "sound card" you`ll be bombarded with tons of information about sound cards that are designed specifically for audio recording and playback. If you are using an old standard soundblaster, that is definately not what you need for audio recording. There are many other options you`ll find here, usually with associated prices and where to find them. Most likely you will get some suggestive responses rather quickly to your post as well.

good point toki, i was a bit pushed for time earlier but i'll have a browse around this bastion of wisdom before i ask any more questions :)
