Has anyone any experience or familiarity with either the Yamaha CDR-HD1300 or CDR-HD1500? This is a consumer model hard disk/CD recorder that gets pretty good reviews. Seems similar to the Alesis Masterlink without the "mastering" tools. Mainly interested in the percieved sound quality(s). I'd be using it in the same capacity as the Masterlink.
Thanks a lot to anyone and everyone. KK

I loved using the Masterlink..... Haven't used that one, what is your setup? just wondering why you need an external burner

stand-alone cd

hi, I want the stand-alone recorder to copy half-track analog master-mixdowns or to use as a mastering deck itself. Once I have a digital master I run dupes from it....(or take the analog masters to a pro masterhouse?). As far as my set-up, I'm a bit scattered. I have an analog Tascam TSR8 8 track 1/2" reel to reel ran through an Allen Heath mixer.... I also have an Akai DPS16 and DPS12.....and a Yamaha AW2816.....I'm trying to make up my mind what to keep and what to 86. So I'm a bit confused at this point. Still weighing the pros and cons of all systems.....and suffering brain-knots. KK
